22 Gadgets That Will Steal the Show at CES 2016

CES 2016 is six weeks away, and news about the coolest products on display at the annual tech conference in Las Vegas is starting to spill out. Here are some top picks to see in person in January.

1. Cobra DSP 9200 BT


This radar detector syncs to your smartphone for a morning commute. It audibly alerts you to speed traps and red light cameras. Bonus: Other users can mark areas as speed traps.

2. Astell & Kern AK T1


A high-end speaker for the home or office, the AK T1 has six speakers and a built-in amplifier for superior sound. A decoder reads high-end audio files. It costs $3,000.

3. Flir One


A thermal imaging camera for Android or iOS, the Flir One connects to the USB port on your phone. You can see temp maps, which help contractors, safety personnel, and home users.

4. Acer Revo Build


Acer will show off a new desktop computer that lets you add modules using a pogo pin and magnets. You can add storage, speakers, and even wireless charging modules.

5. Cast


A smart hub for social entertainment, Cast integrates a camera, a TV, and all devices in your home to let you watch TV shows and movies with friends.

6. The Cube


Mobile projectors are usually not this small and powerful. The Cube is only two-inches square but projects an image as wide as 120 inches.

7. The GenZe


 A scooter designed for startups, the Genze runs on electric power--to charge, you remove the battery and plug it into any outlet. There’s a large cargo area in the back.

8. Tylt Energi Desktop Charging Station


 Charging stations don’t usually power devices up this quickly. With four ports, the Energi charges twice as fast as a normal wall outlet. A fifth port charges from a backup battery.

9. HP Envy Curved All-in-One


Sure, it comes out in a few weeks, but this curved display will also be a hit at CES 2016. It’s certified by Technicolor and supports 4K resolution (four times HD).
 

10. Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Pro


A tablet that also projects a 70-inch image for presentations? Sign us up. The Yoga Tab 3 Pro runs on the Android OS and lasts up to 18 hours per charge.


11. Ricoh Theta S


A handheld camera that captures 360-degree spherical images, the Theta S is perfect for giving remote employees a sense of a new office space or conference.

12. HP DeskJet 3630


Finally, a printer that matches the design aesthetics of a startup. This model costs just $70, and HP claims it uses 50 percent less ink; you can print directly from a phone or tablet.


13. Lima


 Lima is both a storage drive and an app, but the idea is to make your documents, photos, videos, and other files available to any connected device.

14. MIrage


 This watch--which will enter crowdfunding next month and comes out Q1 of 2016--projects the time onto your hand and shows fitness stats and phone notifications.

15. Build Focus


 An app that runs in your browser, Build Focus tracks your concentration. It shows a house that is either falling apart because you check Facebook too much or rewards you for 25 minutes of work.

16. F-Secure Sense


 A gadget for work or home, this device detects security threats using artificial intelligence. Anything that looks and acts like a virus or hack, the Sense will block.

17. Lytro Immerge


 Details are a bit scarce, but this virtual reality camera is intended to help pros create immersive environments (say, for the Oculus Rift) that have a 360-degree field of view.

18. ShareRoller


 A kit that converts any bike to electric power, the ShareRoller is for anyone who wants to cycle commute in style. A small Bluetooth-connected  throttle connects to the handlebars.
 

19. Thinfilm OpenSense


 An amazing breakthrough in prescription meds, this smart label connects to a smartphone to show refill information and injection reminders. Doctors can remotely track dosages.

20. Grobo


 An ingenious product for indoor gardening in your cubicle, the Grobo is a pod with LED lights that connects to your smartphone. You can see watering reminders and when it is time to harvest.

21. ConnectSense Smart Outlet


 Available by early next year, the Smart Outlet connects to your phone and lets you set up power schedules--say, for lamps in the office or a computer. There’s a USB port for charging gadgets.

22. ErgotronHome Workspace Hub27


 Height-adjustable desks can cost thousands. This wall-mounted cabinet includes a shelf you use to adjust the desk height. It has storage areas and a gadget charger hub.
